1,500 Nigerian Students in UK Faces deportation as Effect on formulation of New Law

Nigerian students- in uk

Around 2,600 foreign students could be deported from Britain after their university was stripped of its ability to sponsor visas for pupils beyond the European Union, the government announced Thursday.

The move provoked dismay from students and accusations that the move by the Conservative-led government, which is bent on reducing immigration, could damage Britain’s global reputation.
London Metropolitan University has lost its “highly trusted status” because a survey found significant problems with the qualifications of many of its foreign students, Immigration Minister Damian Green said.
In a “significant proportion” of cases, there was no documentation that students had a good standard of English, Green said, and there was no proof that half of those sampled were attending lectures. He said the sampling of the university’s foreign students indicated that more than a quarter did not have current permission to be in the country.
“Any one of those breaches would be serious,” Green told BBC radio. “We found all three of those breaches at London Metropolitan.”
A degree from a U.K. university is highly prized by many students abroad, and those from outside the European Union often pay higher fees than residents. The British government, which has cracked down on immigration in multiple ways, has pointed to student visas as a category ripe for abuse by those who may instead be looking for work.
London Metropolitan has 30,000 students, and 2,600 are affected by the government’s decision, said university spokesman Nick Hansen. Students from other European Union countries don’t need visas.
The affected students will have 60 days to find new sponsors once they are formally notified by the government, or they could be deported. A task force has been set up to help genuine students who otherwise qualify for visas, Universities Minister David Willetts said, but with the fall term imminent students have little time to find new sponsors and courses.

Photos – Man Defile’s 3year-old Girl in Lagos

This is indeed a Pathetic Story…..This incident happened yesterday afternoon at Adeniji Adele, Dolphin Estate, Phase 2. A little girl ran into a woman’s shop crying. The woman asked her why she was crying, but the little girl couldn’t really express herself. She just kept pointing at a particular direction, and crying.

Then a few minutes later, the shop owner saw a man in his 30s approaching her shop and calling on the girl to follow him.
man defile 3 year old in lagos

The woman asked the man who he was and why he was after the girl. The man probably realized the women wasn’t going to release the girl to him, so he tried to run.
The woman raised an alarm immediately shouting ole ole, thinking he was a kidnapper, not knowing he had done something much worse.
Youths in the area thinking the man was a thief descended on him. The man kept saying he wasn’t a thief that the little girl was known to him.
They turned to the girl and pressured her to tell them what the guy had done to her; the 3 year old told them that the man had taken her to the last floor of a 3 story building and hurt her.
They checked the girl’s panties and saw blood all over her private area. The blood had even dropped to her legs but nobody noticed on time.
On hearing this, the youths descended on him once again, this time more brutal. They stripped him n**ked, and beat him with stick, stones, bottles, etc until someone called the police who then took the man away.

LEADERS AT WAR OVER GRAFT: Buhari’s allegation raises dusts

FORMER Head of State and Presidential Candidate of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) in the 2011 general election, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd), on Monday threw a direct challenge to three of his successors – Generals Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida and Olusegun Obasanjo as well as President Goodluck Jonathan, accusing them of being responsible for the rot in the oil industry and the spiraling wave of corruption in the country.

The comment drew responses from President Jonathan and Babangida and is panning out as a repeat of a similar face-off between Obasanjo and Babangida exactly a year ago.
Last August, Babangida, who ruled Nigeria between 1985 and 1993, kick-started the fight on the eve of his 70th birthday celebration in Minna, Niger State when he dismissed Obasanjo’s achievements after eight years as President, as low. He said Obasanjo failed to improve the power sector, despite the huge cash available to the government.
Vintage Obasanjo’s reply was swift.  He said Babangida should be “pitied” and not “condemned” or visited with “anger” because he was a fool. His words: “Some of the things he (Babangida) said, unfortunately, were not well thought-out. For instance, he talked about our energy. When I was the military Head of State, I built Jebba Dam; built Shiroro Dam. I prepared the foundation of Egbin plant, which President Shagari completed and commissioned.
That time, the money we were making was not up to the money Babangida was making annually for his eight years and yet we built two dams. But since the building of Egbin power plant, until I came back in 1999, there was no generating plant for almost 20 years and Babangida spent eight years out of that.
Dividends of democracy
“Now, he has the audacity to talk about anybody; I think that is unfortunate. I also read where he said in his time, he gave the dividends of democracy and at the same time he regretted.
“When I read that, well, I said Babangida should be pitied and shown sympathy, rather than anger or condemnation because the old saying says a fool at 40 is a fool forever and I would say a regret at 70 is regret too late. Well, a regret at 70 is regret to the grave.”
Babangida countered and accused Obasanjo of massive failure during his reign. “In my eight years in office, I was able to manage poverty and achieve success while somebody for eight years managed affluence and achieved failure.
“Chief Obasanjo should ponder these incontrovertible facts: The revenues that accrued to former President Olusegun Obasanjo during his eight years are more than those that accrued to the nation from independence till 1999 before he took over. Despite such stupendous wealth of the nation, what is his performance profile? …The history of Chief Obasanjo is an open sore that is irredeemably contrived in several incongruities and contradictions,” he said.
The bitter exchanges were to continue for a while before the Generals sheathed their swords and denied Nigerians of dearly needed details that would have helped to unearth the reasons behind Nigeria’s paradox of poverty amid plenty.
This time, eminent citizens want the battle to be fought to a logical conclusion and have challenged Babangida, Obasanjo and Jonathan, to defend themselves against the allegations.
Incidentally, the quartet, cumulatively, have ruled Nigeria for 23 out of the 52 years the country has existed as an independent nation. While Obasanjo ruled for 11 years, Buhari was in power for approximately two years, Babangida – eight years and Jonathan, two years.
Buhari’s allegation: Pointedly, Buhari said that the corrupt practices in the oil sector during the eras of Babangida, Obasanjo and Jonathan had led to the enslaving of the masses. The first to respond was President Goodluck Jonathan.

While declaring open the 52nd Annual General Conference of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) in Abuja, on Monday, President Jonathan said he could not be held responsible for the country’s failings and wondered why former leaders, who had the opportunity of fixing the nation and failed to do so, were now criticizing his young administration.
“Sometimes, even people who have held offices in government criticise me to the extent of personal abuses. Sometimes I ask, were there roads across the country and Jonathan brought flood to wipe out these roads? Or we had power and I brought hurricane to break down the entire infrastructure?
“If they say Boko Haram is because of poverty; were there massive irrigation projects in the North where agriculture can thrive and massive farms, and Jonathan brought drought to wipe out these farms? Under two years, is it possible?” he wondered.
Obasanjo is yet to defend himself on the issue. Rather, speaking at the Nigeria Leadership Initiative, NLI, Guest Speaker Forum in Lagos, on Tuesday, he regretted his inability to fix the power problem, which he attributed to lack of funds in the initial period of his administration, owing to the low price of crude oil in the international market, Nigeria’s depleted foreign reserves and huge debt burden.
He also refused to comment on Nigeria’s leadership at the moment when asked to rate the country’s current leadership.
On his part, IBB, who spoke through his spokesman, Mr. Kassim Afegbua, threatened to expose Buhari’s shady deals in the oil sector when he functioned as Petroleum Minister and later chairman of the Petroleum Trust Fund (PTF), if Buhari did not shut his mouth.
“We are conversant with General Buahri’s so-called holier-than-thou attitude. He is a one-time Minister of Petroleum and we have good records of his tenure as minister. Secondly, he presided over the Petroleum Trust Fund (PTF), which records we also have. We challenge him to come out with clean hands in those two portfolios. Those, who live in glass houses, do not throw stones. General Buhari should be properly guided,” he said.
Exposing corruption
However, Buhari insisted on his comments and challenged Babangida to expose his shady deals if he had facts.
Reacting to the development, some eminent Nigerians have urged the former leaders to speak up in the interest of the country’s development.
Among those who spoke are Second Republic politicians and elder statesmen, Alhaji Isyaku Ibrahim; former governor of old Kaduna State, Alhaji Balarabe Musa; former Governor of Anambra State, Dr Chukwuemeka Ezeife; one-time Minister for Finance and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Chief Olu Falae; and former President of Institute of Chartered Accounts of Nigeria, ICAN, Otunba Lateef Owoyemi.
They should fight it out—Balarabe Musa
Musa said the issue should not be swept under the carpet. “It is a disagreement of former heads of state. Apart from President Jonathan, they are all former heads of state. Let them fight it out themselves. I don’t think anybody should interfere. Let Ibrahim Babangida expose Buhari like he threatened,” he said.
Obasanjo, Babangida, Jonathan must defend themselves — Isyaku Ibrahim
On his part, Isyaku Ibrahim said the manner Buhari made the allegation should compel the former leaders to speak and defend their integrity.
His words: “Babangida should expose Buhari instead of threatening to do so. If Babangida has anything on Buhari, let him say it. Buhari said that the governments of Babangida, Obasanjo and Jonathan are the most corrupt. He said it categorically; he did not issue a threat.
“If Babangida has something on Buhari, he should say it. If your integrity is involved, you come out to fight because Buhari threw the challenge directly,” he stated.
“For me as a politician, if somebody challenges my integrity and I know something about the person, I will say it. The matter is in the public. Let them say whether or not what Buhari said is true. Buhari has challenged them, let them defend themselves. Buhari is going to run for election, if Babangida has something against him, we will like to know.”
Presiednt Jonathan
We want to know how they ruined Nigeria — Ezeife
To Ezeife, General Buhari must come out with facts to substantiate his claims. In a telephone chat with vanguard, he said, “General Buhari must know what he is talking about. Is he saying that Jonathan inherited oil industry destroyed by leaders before him? He must know what he is saying: how they ruled and ruined our great country, Nigeria, ruining the North even more.
“Please, it is not every high level statement that I understand. I don’t know what they know but if Buhari is saying that IBB, Obasanjo and Jonathan destroyed the oil industry, he must surely know what he is talking about. However, let me say they, all together, should tell Nigerians how they ruled and ruined Nigeria and the North.”
Corruption blossomed under Obasanjo —Falae
Reacting to the exchanges, Falae told Vanguard on phone that corruption reached an alarming height during Obasanjo’s administration in 1999.
His words: “The people are former heads of state and to the extent that corruption had been going on for quite sometime in the country, maybe that is why he (Buhari) is holding them accountable. But I don’t know the statistics or information to either agree or disagree with him (Buhari). But there is corruption in the whole country; the country is washed with corruption and nobody can really know where it started from though some government functionaries can. Corruption is the biggest problem we have.
“I cannot attribute it to any particular person but this thing started in earnest since 1999 that was during the Obasanjo administration; that was when the thing really blossomed. In the past, one suspected that a few military leaders were the ones, who had access to the money, but since we returned to civilian rule, thousands of people now got into the act: from the local to state and federal government level. And it has been growing since then. Corruption has grown very fast since 1999.”
They are all culpable — Owoyemi
However, Owoyemi said the former leaders, including Buhari, contributed to the rot in the oil industry.
He said: “Whoever should have done the maintenance of the refineries and did not do it and instead started importing fuel should be blamed for each and every part of the problem.
“Whoever provided funds for people to do turn around maintenance of the petroleum refineries and did not carpet or disgrace the contractors for failing to carryout their jobs, should be blamed for the destruction of the oil industry.
“So, definitely the military as a whole did a lot of havoc with the issue of accountability and transparency in this country; all of them, all the military people, including Buhari.  Their take-over of the government was illegal and they ran the government illegally throughout when they suspended the Constitution of the country especially law and order.
“They, all of them, are guilty. If the politicians had been in charge since 1960 till now, things would have been better.  They should allow the politicians to run the government and things will be better off.
“They were just too ambitious that was why they dabbled into the whole thing and messed everything up and now we are in for it. This is our generation: nobody has money except the corrupt!  It is very unfortunate,” he said.

Newly Married Couples Sends Best-Man To Prison Over Wedding Suit

BEST MAN WEDDING SUIT

A newly married woman, Mrs. Ify Anyanwu has arrested and charged to a Lagos court by her husband’s best-man, Chris Abasuonu for assaulting herwhen she demanded the suit he wore as her husband’s bestman during their wedding.

The 31 Year Old Chris was charged before Apapa Magistrate’s court where he was remanded in prison custody. Trouble started between the couple and Chris on their wedding day. We learnt that Chris started demanding N11,000 from Ify’s husband, saying that was the amount he spent on sewing his suit for the wedding.
When the woman heard it, she felt embarrassed and shocked over Chris’ attitude just as the couple was settling down after the wedding. She reportedly gave him the money and asked him to return the suit since he had collected the money. Though Chris said he collected the money, he did not return the suit.
According to Ify, after the wedding, Chris started telling neighbours that her husband borrowed money for their wedding. She said Chris later started demanding from them the money he used to sew the suit on their wedding day, threatening to embarrass them publicly.
“We raised the money and gave him and asked him to return the suit,” she said. She said after waiting in vain for him to return it, she went to his house at 74, Yaya Crescent, Olodi Apapa, Lagos to collect it. Ify said when she knocked and entered his room and told him her mission, he locked her inside his room and held her neck and pushed her to the wall.
She said she started shouting for help before their neighbours intervened. In his defence, Chris said he had an agreement with Ify’s husband that he will pay him the money after the wedding.
He said he only demanded his money before the wife got angry and came to his house to demand for the suit.
The action of Chris landed him in court where he is facing a three-count charge of assault, false imprisonment and stealing.
The offences he committed are contrary to Sections 166, 171 and 285 of the Criminal Code Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2011.After he pleaded not guilty, the Magistrate, Mrs. A. K. Shonubi, granted him bail in the sum of N30,000 with one surety in like sum.
The matter was adjourned till 25 September, 2012, while Chris was remanded in prison custody until he meets his bail condition.

Another Twist In Cynthia Osokogu‘s Murder, The Pharmacist Was Set Up By The Police – Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria

the suspects in cynthia murder

This concerns the two pharmacists arrested in connection with Cynthia Osokogu’s murder. Read it below
The Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN) joins millions of Nigerians to empathize with the family of the late Cynthia Osokogu who was lured by friends she met on facebook to Lagos where she was brutalized and eventually killed.

We also commend the Nigeria Police for the professional investigation that led to the arrest of the two young men who admitted openly to have committed the heinous crime.
The Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN) is interested in a diligent and focused investigation of this murder which continues to attract so much interest from Nigerians to the extent that all found culpable will be made to face the full weight of the law, while innocent people are not unjustly arraigned, prosecuted and punished.
We note with concern the arraignment of two young Pharmacists who were charged along with the confessed suspects for r*pe, armed robbery, murder and administering of obnoxious substances. These are weighty charges that reflect the gravity of the offences that led to the death of this promising lady. We at Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN) indeed perceive this loss as a great one to the Osokogus, friends, colleagues and all Nigerians.
The PSN after a critical appraisal of all issues at stake wishes to reflect thus:
1) Pharmacists as responsible professionals and as legitimate custodians of medicines would continue to champion safe, responsible and rational use of medicines in Nigeria. Our projects and programmes in the last few years have always been geared towards the promotion of safe use of medicines.
Having said this, it is important to realize that all medicines are poisons with inherent tendencies for abuse and misuse. Pharmacists have always exercised due diligence, caution and professional judgment in dispensing and sales of medicines. But beyond this, it is difficult to know what a person intends to do or does with the medicine after purchase especially for a premeditated criminal act that involved use of chains, padlocks, tape and other dangerous weapons.
Information available to us indicate:
a. Pharmacist Chukwunonso Maduakor was on duty in Oxpharm in the morning of Monday August 20, 2012. A gentleman approached him and requested to buy Rohypnol. Nonso asked him for a prescription and he said he does not have one.
The gentleman begged and pleaded with him that he really needed it with paracetamol. Pharm. Nonso considered his request on compassionate grounds and dispensed to him one (1) card of 10 tablets of flunitrazapam along with one (1) card of Paracetamol. The gentleman goes out of the pharmacy, and then came in again with other persons, arrested Nonso and accused him of selling drug without prescription.
They then took him to the Police station, he made statement and was detained for six (6) days in Festac Police Area Command. On the 7th day they transferred him to Panti from where he was taken to a Magistrate Court and was charged for conspiracy, murder, armed robbery, rape and administering obnoxious substances to Miss Cynthia Osokogu who was killed by two known persons a month earlier in July 2012.
b. The second Pharmacists, Pharm. Osita Orji is a Locum Pharmacist with Oxpharm and works evening shifts. The police visited Oxpharm on 21 August 2012 and requested to see Osita. When he got to the station, they alleged that he was the Pharmacist on duty when the suspected killer of Cynthia claimed they bought Rohypnol from Oxpharm.
Osita made statement that he did not know the murderers, could not recall meeting them or selling Rohypnol to them and if they ever bought the Rohypnol from him while on duty that they must have presented him with a prescription. Osita was detained in Festac Police Area Command for two (2) days, then transferred to Panti from where he was taken to a Magistrate Court and charged
2) If the liability of the two pharmacists is limited to the sales or alleged sales of rohypnol to clients they do not know and never collaborated with in this condemnable crime then it is logical to believe that at best there might have been breaches of professional ethics. The law provides that such matters are dealt with by the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria a regulatory agency of the Federal Government established by Cap. P.17 LFN 2004.
3) The drug in question Rohypnol is an intermediate acting benzodiazepam similar to diazepam (valium), nitrazepam (swidon) and bromazepam (lexotan).
Rohypnol is the brand name of the medicine flunitrazepam and is one of the benzodiazepine class of sedatives or tranquilizer drugs, of which valium or diazepam is perhaps the best known. It is used in the management of anxiety and sleep disorders (short term treatment of insomnia).
Rohypnol is made by Roche in Switzerland, registered with NAFDAC (Reg. No: 04 ? 0150) and distributed in Nigeria by Swipha Nigeria Ltd. It is not a rare drug as being reported. It is available in Nigeria.
4) The Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN) counsels Nigerians to monitor the use of internet facilities by youths and children particularly because of volume and nature of information available.
5) We urge the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution in the Ministry of Justice in Lagos State to immediately review the cases of these pharmacists with a view to advising the relevant authorities on how best to tackle this matter and to ensure that the innocent is not persecuted albeit unjustly.
CONCLUSION
Gentlemen of the Press, the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN) assures Nigerians that it will continue to work with stakeholders including relevant regulatory agencies to evolve a National Strategy that will improve the use of medicines in Nigeria. In line with this, the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN) has dedicated September 25, 2012 to continue the dialogue on safe medicines by collaborating with the National Human Rights Commission, Regulatory Agencies, Media and other stakeholders.
One of the salient lessons inherent in the discourse is that our youth while trusting must verify the relationship they make through the social media given the abuse potential.
Once again, we offer our heartfelt condolences to the entire Osokogu family. We pray that God will grant the family the fortitude to bear this loss.
Thank you.

I Can Relate To Black People, My Ancestors Once Owned Slaves – Mitt Romney,US Presidential Candidate

http://www.mercyjohnson.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/Mitt-Romney.jpg

US Republican Presidential candidate, Mitt Romney tells a crowd of supporters one of the most insulting statements of all times during a speech on Monday by claiming he can relate with black people because his ancestors once owned slaves.

Here is what Mitt Romney said while addressing a crowd in Prattville, Alabama on Monday:
I understand how difficult it can be for an African-American in today’s society. In fact, I can relate to black people very well indeed. My ancestors once owned slaves, and it is in my lineage to work closely with the black community. However, just because they were freed over a century ago doesn’t mean they can now be freeloaders.
They need to be told to work hard, and the incentives just aren’t there for them anymore. When I’m president I plan to work closely with the black community to bring a sense of pride and work ethic back into view for them.
Even though this latest statement by Mitt Romney will undoubtedly be spun so that it will be seen as being taken out of context, someone needs to tell this man to just keep his mouth shut.
So far, he has told citizens that he is friends with NASCAR owners, NFL owners, and now that he is related to slave owners. Stick to economic policy Mitt, that’s your strong point. Your history at Bain Capital speaks for itself.
The Romney campaign has yet to release its version of the speech made in Prattville.
Do you think he said this to rubbish the blacks Race?

Tension in SSS over leakage of staff data

There were indications, yesterday, that the State Security Service, SSS, might have embarked on a secret probe of those behind leakage of the personal data of over 60 current and former staff of the spy organization.

The leakage of the employees’ records, including that of the head of the agency, Mr. Ita Ekpenyong, was reported by a foreign news agency yesterday, which claimed that the development had embarrassed the organisation.
The records of the affected staff and their immediate family members were reportedly posted on a website suspected to have links with the Boko Haram sect, raising fears as to whether the information was given out by insiders or through hackers bent on using it for pecuniary purposes.
The SSS spokesperson, Marilyn Ogar, could not be reached for comments on the development as calls to her phone were not answered.
However, a competent source acknowledged that the agency was aware of the development and had begun investigations into it.
The security source, who described the development as strange and embarrassing to the agency, said that those behind the act would be apprehended and made to account for their misdeeds.
Another source familiar with the agency, said they were suspicious that the staff data were sourced from the data submitted by the affected personnel to a federal government pension agency, which the SSS recently broke away from.
It was learnt that the pension agency might have taken offence and thrown away the data from its archive following an approval by the Presidency that the spy body should set up and run its own pension scheme due to the peculiar nature of its assignment.
“We have a strong suspicion that this information leaked to the website in question was taken directly from the pension agency.
“A cursory examination of the information including the staff records and their family members bear semblance to that which we filled with our former pension managers.
“We are still investigating the source of the information,” the source said.
The Associated Press reported, yesterday, that the personnel records of some past and present SSS staff members including home addresses and names of their immediate family members were leaked onto the Internet in a threatening message that claimed to come from a radical Islamist sect that has killed hundreds of people this year alone.

Photos – Faces of Cynthia Osokogu’s Killers

cynthia-killers pictures

The killers of Cynthia Osokogu were arraigned yesterday at a Yaba Magistrate Court in Lagos on an eight-count charge of felony, conspiracy, murder, robbery and rape.

The four accused persons, Okwumo Echezona Nwabufo (33), Ejike Ilechukwu Olisaeloka (23), Orji Osita (32) and Maduakor Chukwunonso (25), who were brought to court in hand and leg chains were verbally assaulted by the crowd that came to witness their arraignment.

Before the court sitting, there was pandemonium as newsmen scrambled to get shots of the suspects, particularly the first and second, who had been avoiding the camera.
“You are ashamed, abi. Why should you be ashamed when you are terrible human beings who deserve to die?” one woman shouted as the two suspects kept their hands tightly on their faces. No plea was taken as the Magistrate only asked if they understood the charge after it was read to them, to which they answered ‘yes’.
The suspects were eventually ordered to be remanded in Ikoyi prison by Magistrate O. S. Aka-Bashorun pending the legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecution.
Meanwhile the remains of Cynthia will be buried on September 17 in Jos.

Mother Kills,Cooks and Eats her Two Sons Aged 1 & 5

woman kilL and eat sons

A Thai mother has been accused of killing, cooking and eating her sons because she thought they were pigs, the Bangkok Post reports. Hallucinations may have played a role in the tragic crime.
Police received a complaint last week that the woman, a member of the Musur hilltribe in Thailand’s ,Mae Ai, allegedly “butchered” her two sons, ages 1 and 5, and proceeded to cook and eat them.

According to the Bangkok Post, law enforcement officials allegedly found the woman asleep with several body parts strewn around her. Later, they reportedly learned she had been treated for mental illness since 2007.
A previous report from the Bangkok Post said that the woman stopped taking her medicine one or two months ago. A hospital report said the woman suffered from hallucinations and thought someone was coming to hurt her.
The news is the latest in a string of reported cases of cannibalism this year. Police busted a cult in Papua New Guinea in July for allegedly eating victims’ brains and penises. In April, authorities in northeastern Brazil arrested three people for allegedly killing women and making pastries with their flesh.
Earlier this year, hallucinations caused by bath salts were thought to be behind an infamous face-eating attack in Miami, Florida. However, a toxicology report later showed that only marijuana was present in the attacker’s system.

Woman Arrested for Having an Affair with Pet Dog

A South African woman has been arrested by police in Pretoria over allegations that she has been having sex with her dog for some time.
Though police refused to confirm or deny the arrest on Wednesday, the Pretoria News has reliably learnt that the woman was arrested at her home in Moreleta Park.

According to police sources, the police secured a search warrant to search the woman’s home on Wednesday after a complaint by an animal protection organisation.
An anonymous person dropped off a DVD recording of the woman’s activities at the organisation’s premises. During the search of her home, police found more recordings of the woman having sexual int*rcourse with the dog.
“It appears that she was recording these activities all along. She was immediately arrested after we searched the house,” said a police source. The woman is expected to appear in the Pretoria Magistrates Court on Thursday on a charge of bestiality.

“I Will Expose Your Dirty Laundry” – IBB TO Buhari

IBB TO Buhari

A few hours after President Goodluck Jonathan and ex-Head of State, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari took a swipe at former leaders, ex-Military President Ibrahim Babangida fired back.
He asked Dr. Jonathan to learn to accept criticisms and threatened to expose the “holier-than thou-attitude” of Gen. Buhari.

Gen. Babangida, who spoke through Prince Kassim Afegbua, his media adviser, reminded Gen. Buhari that those who live in glass houses should not throw stones.
He also advised Dr. Jonathan to look elsewhere, not him, if he is blaming past leaders that are criticising him.
Kassim said: “On President Jonathan, there is nothing wrong in criticism if it is constructive and in the interest of the country. Gen. Babangida is one unique former President who does not criticise a sitting President as a matter of courtesy.
“If President Jonathan is blaming past leaders, he should look elsewhere, certainly not IBB.
“On Gen. Buhari, it is not in IBB’s tradition to take up issues with his colleague former President. But for the purpose of record, we are conversant with Gen. Buhari’s so-called holier-than-thou attitude.
“He is a one-time Minister of Petroleum and we have good records of his tenure as minister.
“Secondly, he also presided over the Petroleum Trust Fund ( PTF) which records we also have.
“We challenge him to come out with clean hands in those two portfolios he headed. Or, we will help him to expose his. “records of performance during those periods.”
Those who live in glass houses do not throw stones. Gen. Buhari should be properly guided.”
It would also be recalled that Buhari’s present protege, the controversial former minister of the FCT, Malam Nasir Elrufai, had in October of 2010 accused Buhari of a litany of improper acts. To quote Elrufai, he had said of Buhari that ” That same prejudice accounts for the baseless claims of corruption Buhari levels against El Rufai. The fact is that Mallam El-Rufai served Nigeria with integrity and has never been convicted of any corrupt act.
He is boldly contesting the false charges which the Yar’Adua government filed against him in court. It is strange that a Buhari who protests when unproven claims of N2.5 billion (about US $3billion in those days!) missing oil funds are levelled against him can gleefully elevate similar claims into facts when it concerns another.
How would Buhari feel if the corruption allegations made against him by Group Captain Usman Jibrin, then a board member of PTF, are today reported as if they were proven facts? So much for “corrupt background” and “shoddy performance”.
Mallam El-Rufai wishes to remind General Buhari that he has remained perpetually unelectable because his record as military head of state, and afterwards, is a warning that many Nigerians have wisely heeded. His insensitivity to Nigeria’s diversity and his parochial focus are already well-known.
In 1984, Buhari allowed 53 suitcases belonging to his ADC’s father to enter Nigeria unchecked at a time the country was exchanging old currency for new. Against all canons of legal decency, he used retroactive laws to execute three young men for drug-peddling after they were convicted by a military tribunal and not regular courts of law.
Buhari was so high handed that he gave himself and his officials immunity even from truthful reporting. That obnoxious Decree 4, against which truth was no defence, was used to jail journalists and attempt to cow the media as a whole. That tyrannical legislation shows the essence of his intolerance. These are facts of recent history.

Rich, our source explained was able to win the pretty woman’s heart after sweet tonguing her especially because he’s a known face who’s featured in several movies. This, we further gathered was how the woman in a short while brought back smile to the face of the light skinned actor to the extent that, he became financially buoyant and had even started cruising one of her cars.
The relationship as expected blossomed into marriage within a short period and the actor we learnt even had a traditional wedding with his supposed God sent wife. The union, we learnt however took a new dimension when Rich began to complain of his wife’s inability to get pregnant.
Meanwhile, the woman had, by this time handed over the documents of her landed properties as well as making him part of the signatories in her firm. The affair, we reliably learnt took another twist as the graduate of music, Rich started seeing a younger lover, Iyake, a calabar born undergraduate of Nassarawa State Polytechnic whose mother owns a shop in Abuja.
“He`s always hibernating everyday for hours with a young girl whose mother owns a shop at the popular area known as Food Court built by El Rufai where there are banks, it is so shameful for a man like that doting on a young girl,”
the source disclosed.
While doting on a young girl outside, the actor, who the source revealed is also an ex Naval officer kept mounting pressure on his wife to get pregnant shunning the fact that the business woman was suffering from Fibroid.
This, we gathered might not be far from the reason the woman had to take the decision to get the fibroid removed by all means.
Quoting the source
“It was Rich’s unnecessary pressure on the lady that made her resulted into having a fibroid operation in a private hospital in Abuja which she luckily survived but only recuperating at the hospital before she was allegedly poisoned”.
The woman we were told, however met her untimely death few days after the surgery when her husband was said to have visited the hospital and allegedly gave her a pill without the doctor`s consent claiming that it would aid her speedy recovery, not knowing that it was poison.
The whole thing started looking suspicious when Rich who had sold some of his wife’s landed property for a church member for N2.5m requested for her death certificate. The actor we gathered claimed that he urgently needed the certificate to sort out some personal issues instead of informing the wife’s family or at least show a remorse for the irreparable loss.
In addition, the church member who bought the land, according to our source also smelled fowl play because Rich refused to have his wife’s signature on the land receipt neither did he even inform any of her family member claiming that he’s the husband and has the right to sell her land. This, we learnt informed the church member’s interest to investigate the actual cause of Rich’s wife death.
“This was how the man reported the whole land story as well as the woman’s death to her family and it was what made them involved the police before the doctor and Rich were arrested”
the source revealed.
The doctor, knowing that his hands were clean, therefore suggested an autopsy which shockingly revealed a poisonous pill in the woman’s system. The said poison we gathered was ingested between the time her husband visited the night before she died.
The nurses were also said to have saw her sleeping few minutes after Rich left not knowing that she was dead in her sleep. The actor, our source added later confessed killing his wife after much torture in police cell without any cogent reason. We also learnt that Rich is still in the police custody in Abuja while remains of his wife have been deposited in the mortuary, we shall however bring you unfolding details as events unfold.

Secrets Your Husband or Boyfriend Doesn’t Want You to Know

boyfriend secrets

  • 1. He Only Pretends Not to Listen.
He heard what you said. He’s just not interested in hearing it at the moment. Don’t try to give your man instructions or talk about your feelings when he’s watching TV (especially sports), eating, reading, or has just come home from work.
He will only be half listening. His mind is on other things like: will his team win, his day at work, how hungry he is, etc. He can only pay attention to one thing at a time. If he lets you think that he is giving you his full attention, and then you will want to talk to him at these inappropriate moments all the time. If he gives you a detailed response, you’ll just continue to talk. If he completely ignores you, you’ll get mad. If he pretends that he is listening, you will be content and walk away.
  • 2. He Does Look at Other Women.
Not because he wants to cheat, but because men are visually stimulated. Getting mad at him for looking is just going to make him sneak a peek. Hey, it’s just a passing glance. It’s not like we don’t check guys out too!
  • 3. He Needs Time Away From You.
Men need time to reflect, socialize and just get away from it all. Men like the time to regroup. It doesn’t mean that they don’t want to be with us, it is just an escape to appreciate what they have at home. So lighten up, while he’s out of the house, take the kids out or get a babysitter and go something you enjoy.
  • 4. He Doesn’t Feel Like Being Bothered Sometimes
You’ve probably asked him to do something several times, but yet he still doesn’t do it in a timely manner. In frustration, you do it yourself. What is he thinking, “Thank Goodness!” Men do things at their own pace. You can ask your man to take out the trash and 3 hours later, it’s still there. Technically, he still has time to take out the trash. In his mind, the trash isn’t going anywhere anytime soon, and if you do it yourself, that just makes it better for him.
  • 5. He Really Enjoys Gossip
If your man overhears you gossiping on the phone, he’ll probably shake his head in disapproval. However, if he talks about Joe and Margaret, his co workers who are having an affair, it’s not gossip. Actually men enjoy to gossip. They just have a different name for it “Commenting.”
  • 6. Yes, He Was Thinking About Sex
Your man has a far away look in his eyes. He seems distant. He was thinking about sex. He can’t help it, he thinks about it several times a day. Wouldn’t you prefer that he thinks about it several times a day rather than having sex several times a day?
  • 7. When His Voice Goes High, or He Answers a Question With the Same Question, He’s Thinking of a Lie.
If you ask your man, “What You’d Do Today?’ and he replies “What I’d Do Today?” he’s probably thinking of lie. It doesn’t mean that he did something inappropriate, just something you wouldn’t approve of. Maybe, he left work early to hang out with the guys. If he told you this, you’d be upset because you had a long day at work or at home with the kids. The problem is he was having too much fun to think about if you would ask him that question, so he didn’t plan a lie beforehand.
  • 8. Nothing is Wrong, So Stop Asking Him
Admit it, you see your man sitting quietly and you naturally assume something is wrong or has happened. So you ask, “What’s wrong?” and he replies, “Nothing, I’m just thinking.” Well, this answer doesn’t satisfy you, so you ask again throughout the day, which leads to his frustration. Men reflect too! He was probably thinking about how he wants to change careers, if you are satisfied and happy with him, how he can make more money, how he doesn’t want to grow old and fat, or how he would really like to buy that sports car. Ask him once, and then leave it alone. If you really sense something is wrong, give him some time and talk to him when you both feel like talking.
  • 9. Most Men are Conquerors and Most Women are Venters
You just told him about your horrible experience at work. You want him to comfort and console you; instead he gives you logical facts about how to solve the problem. You feel cheated. You wanted to share your feelings about the day and all he wanted to do was fix the problem. Men like to offer solutions. Most men are not concerned about being in touch with their feelings when there’s a conflict. You want to feel understood; he wants to make the problem go away. He can’t relate to how you are feeling, so he does what he knows best, helps you to plan a solution.
  • 10. He Wants to Feel Successful.
A man needs to feel he has accomplished something in life, and often times that accomplishment is found in their jobs or careers. Men don’t like to feel conflicted between work and quality time with their families. To men, if they are working hard to earn money, this will improve the quality of their family’s life.

Spanish Magazine Puts Michelle Obama’s Head On A Portrait Of Topless Slave

Michelle Obama spanish magazine

Spanish magazine landed themselves in the middle of a racial controversy over a Photoshopped picture of First Lady Michelle Obama on the cover of their latest issue with the caption ‘Michelle Granddaughter of a Slave, Lady of America’. The picture places Mrs Obama’s face in a 1800 portrait of a slave with an exposed breast, and Magazine de Fuera de Serie likely knew the image was going to stir up controversy.
The editors may have had a different message in mind given the historical context of the particular painting, but that sentiment was overlooked by online viewers who found the composite offensive and racist. Don’t you think it’s disrespectful to portray Michelle Obama’s in such a manner?

Nivea drops Rihanna as brand ambassador

Nivea drops Rihanna

Seems her bad girl image is affecting the brand. From publicly smoking pot , reping thug life, edgy ,going to strip clubs and going visibly braless on numerous occasions.Stefan Heidenreich, the new head of Nivea’s parent company Beiersdorf, said that the singer was axed because her behaviour is not appropriate for the brand.

“Rihanna is a no go. I do not understand how to bring the core brand of Nivea in conjunction with Rihanna. Nivea is a company which stands for trust, family and reliability.”
Looks like Rihanna had no words for him,She uploaded the CEO’s photo with caption “No caption necessary”, allowing her fans, endearingly nicknamed Rihanna Navy, do all the bashing.

Funke Akindele Speaks On How Her Husband Proposed To Her

Funke Akindele Interview

Nollywood glorified miss sunshine, actress Funke Akindele-Oloyede speaks with Genevieve Magazine on how her husband, Mr. Kehinde Almaroof Oloyede proposed, and how supportive he has been on her career.
Funke Akindele and Almaroof met in 2007 but remained just friends until about eight months later. All that time she was playing hard to get and hardly gave him her time.

But Almaroof was patient, always keeping in touch and regularly checking on her to know how she was doing. By 2011, they eventually started dating.
When finally proposed, Funke wasn’t too surprised being a writer used to suspense, twists and plots of romantic scenes. “Secondly, if you’re dating some who plans to marry you, you would know,” she adds.
She still remembers every detail of Almaroof’s proposal: “I was on set filming in Abeokuta when he called to ask if we were done. I said ‘No’ and reminded him we were filming for five days and asked why he was suddenly asking and he said he just wanted to know.
Then he started asking for my exact location in Abeokuta because he wanted to send me something. I didn’t attach too much meaning to that and just gave him the address.
“I called him just before I left for my hotel and he asked for its name. Later in the evening at the hotel, my PA lured me to the lobby saying a big fan had a gift for me. On getting there I saw my husband. He said he wanted to discuss some things with me and … with that, he brought out a ring and slipped it into my finger.”
Funke says she feels a deep sense of satisfaction because she married her friend; someone who makes her happy, and for her that is the most important thing. During our cover shoot, Almaroof showed some of the character that won Funke’s heart as he waited patiently for Funke, showing his support, till she was done even though the shoot went on till very late.
“We talk about everything. I can talk to him about my job. Since we became close in 2008, he has always encouraged me as far as my career goes. Sometimes when I want to turn down some roles because the money offered isn’t much, he encourages me to weigh other advantages like the calibre of the other actors I would be working with. He’s very supportive,” she says.

Video – K-Solo and wife apologise to fans over purported Fight, Claims they were Acting

K-Solo and wife

In an exclusive session with Channels , ‘The K-Solos’ as the couple want to be called, cheerfully denied the wife battery allegation, that went viral in June. Kikelomo released pictures of her bruised face on the internet and granted a number of interviews for the prank.

According to reports, K-Solo allegedly beats and steals from his wife but the couple claimed that they were ‘just acting and having fun’ and that nothing of the purported fight and destruction of properties ever happened.
Pictures of Kikelomo’s bruised face and gadgets destroyed in their home during the purported fight were released on the internet in May, when Kikelomo allegedly revealed her assault by her husband, who she also claimed, stole from her.
The very cheerful couple claimed they were “just acting and playing pranks on the media and friends with the reports.”
Referring to her husband as ‘Oba (Oba) K-Solo’, the pregnant wife also named herself as ‘Olori (Queen) K-Solo’, as she apologised to all the fans of the couple and promised to release a movie-for the cinema’s only-on the pranks and how they’ve evolved.
The movie, titled ‘Lo ba tan’ will feature an expected Prince K-Solo (the royal son of K-Solo royalty) and the likes of Funke Akindele and many others Nollywood acts.Mrs K-Solo also gave a special apology to her mother-in-law and sisters-in-law, who she claimed she invaded their homes after the ‘purported fight prank’ lasted.

Cynthia Osokogu’s killers demanded N20million from Mother Before Killing her – Mum

Cynthia Osokogu mom

Mother of the Cynthia Osokogu, the 24 year old lady murdered in a Festac hotel by her Facebook/BB friends said the men had demanded N20million from her. Her words below:
On Sunday July 22nd, she called me to tell me that she had arrived Lagos to collect some goods that had just arrived from overseas and promised to come and see me immediately she arrived from Lagos. So when she did not call me on the day she was supposed to arrive, I called her number and it wasn’t going.
At the time I called my husband who lives in Abuja and my senior son to intimate them of what as happening. So I went to the police to complain. But when we called the number again, it was going and someone picked it up and said she would come back; that we couldn’t speak with her because she was in the hospital.

They told me she was in Symbol hospital in Benin. It turned out to be a fake hospital. Then when we called again, they said they had kidnapped her and demanded for N20million. They sent me a fake account number. I told them that you people said we should send N20 million but the account number they sent to me was a fake one.
Not until two weeks later they now told me that I should not bother to call again, that she had been killed. It was after this that I declared her missing.

13 Teenage Chinese Prostitutes arrested in an Apartment in Lagos,Nigeria

chinese prostitute in lagos
13 teenage Chinese prostitutes have been arrested and detained by the Nigerian Immigration Service following a raid of their base on Emina Crescent, off Toyin Street, Ikeja. The immigration service raided the apartment following a tip off.
More than 40 teenage girls were brought into the country and camped in an apartment for Nigerian politicians, business executives and expatriates to hire for sex at the cost of between $1,000 and $2,500. The cartel was run by Chinese couple named Sun and Yin Li.

They’ve been operating for a while and a source in the know said the business was booming and the couple were in the process of importing more girls before they were raided. Only 13 girls were picked from the apartment. The Chinese couple, along with some other girls, managed to escape from the apartment and are now in hiding.
NIS spokesman, Joachim Olumba confirmed the arrest and said the girls are in their custody. He also said they are on the trail of the kingpin of the sex ring. And after investigations, they will either deport the girls or hand them over to their embassy here in Nigeria for appropriate action. Can you Imagine what our Politicians are paying for Chinese Prostitutes?

TB Joshua´s Prayers Ended My 14years Smoking Adiction – Tonto Dikeh

Tonto Dikeh smoking Adiction

Popular Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh has sensationally revealed that the sudden end to her smoking addiction came through the prayers of Pastor T.B.Joshua via his Christian station Emmanuel TV.*
Dikeh, who rose to fame after becoming the runner up in the Nigerian reality show, ‘The Next Movie Star’ in 2006, had garnered a controversial reputation in Nollywood for being a heavy smoker.
According to Dikeh, she started chain-smoking at the age of 13 and there seemed no signs of the habit waning. When questioned about her smoking in an interview with Nigeria’s Nation Newspaper early last year, the Rivers State born starsaid,
“If I want to smoke, I handle a stick of cigarette and I smoke it hard. It is my life I can decide to smoke myself to hell. It’s nobody’s business.”

The habit recently led to a serious clash between her and Ghanaian actor Van Vicker when he bitterly complained at her smoking on set, culminating in a heavy exchange of words. When probed in September 2011 about the health implications of her habit, the care-free actress retorted, *“My smoking habit doesn’t affect your life in anyway. If I die tomorrow, you’re not going to bury me. My father has the money to bury me. So, why are they talking about it?”
*
However, there was a sudden twist in the tale in May 2012 when, seemingly out of the blue, Tonto tweeted to her over 80,000 followers on Twitter, ‘I’ve good news for those who wish me well. Its silly good news but ya’ll going
to love this.
I quit smoking!’ Although the announcement was met with almost unanimous approval from her fans, speculation was rife as to what caused her sudden decision, many doubting whether it would actually last.
But in an online article published this week, the sultry actress shed light on the spiritual element to her quitting in an interview with Nigerian entertainment magazine, ‘E24-7’.
*“I didn’t quit smoking by myself,”* she explained to Biodun Kupoluyi. “I was watching a program on TV with Prophet T.B. Joshua and he was laying hands on people and praying for them. I love to watch his programs on
Emmanuel TV. When he was praying, he said, ‘Lay your hands on the TV’ and I just laid my hands that day. I actually needed something else from God, not to quit smoking because I loved smoking! However, after praying I sat back
and I think I slept off.”
After a short nap, Tonto awoke and attempted to smoke as usual. However, according to her, something inexplicably supernatural had happened. *“When I woke up, I took a stick of cigarette and I felt crazy. I couldn’t even
imagine that I took it up to smoke in the first place. It felt like poison!” An addiction of 14 years was ended through a simple prayer on television. Three months down the line, Dikeh has remained clean from smoking.
Judging by online reaction to Tonto’s revelation, it appears her experience is not an isolated one. Many viewers of Joshua’s Emmanuel TV testified to similar experiences, including Lovemore Chibvongodze from United Kingdom
who told the official T.B. Joshua Ministries Facebook Page, followed by close to 300,000 people, how his 34 year addiction to smoking and drinking alcohol ended through prayers on Emmanuel TV.
Joshua, who was recently adjudged by Paris-based magazine, ‘The Africa Report’ to be among the 50 most influential Africans, is growing increasingly popular across Africa largely due to the increase in awareness of and intrigue in Emmanuel TV.
Speaking on T.B. Joshua’s positive influence in her life, Tonto said, *“I watch him every day, I write to him every time I can, I tweet on him. I think that he is a person that influences my life positively in a lot of ways just through the TV alone… I am following him because I think he is following Jesus. I just love him because he is a man of God and he has specially affected my life and my friends too.”

Cynthia Osokogu’s Last Conversation With Her Mother Before She Was Murdered

cynthia.last.conversation

“On July 22, my daughter Cynthia called me and said that she had arrived Lagos. She was a student of Nasarawa State University in Keffi. She owned a boutique, which she opened when she was a third year undergraduate”.
“They usually brought her goods imported from the United States, but that fateful July 22, she told me that they were bringing her goods from England”.
“She said this time; she wanted to buy English goods to add to her other goods. She told me that since school would be resuming the next day, she would take the next flight to Jos to see me.
“As she did not arrive as she promised and we did not hear from her, we raised alarm and declared her missing”.
“Then on Monday, August 20, they said we should come to Lagos and that they cannot disclose anything unless we come”.
“It was when my son got to Lagos and they took him to the mortuary that they saw her corpse. I don’t know anything that happened again after that”.
The suspects in Cynthia’s death, Mrs. Osokogu said, told her daughter when they received her at the airport at the Lagos that her goods were in the hotel room and that they wanted to show her there.
“When they got there, they now strangled her to death, tied her mouth and everything. That was all”, she wailed.

We’ll Give Our Husbands Condom For Safety – Nollywood Twin Sisters, Chidinma & Chidiebere Aneke

Aneke Twins

They are marvelous to behold. Delectable, hard working and talented, Nollywood twins, Chidiebere and Chidinma Aneke have carved a place for themselves in the industry.
The Enugu-based acts stormed Lagos recently to celebrate their birthday with the less privilege as well as release a new movie, National Experience and National Service. In an encounter with The Entertainer, they talked about their lives.

Would you make love to one man as twins?
No! God forbid. Our man is our separate property that we cannot share. Are you in any relationship? Most of our friends are guys instead of girls because they have business ideas. Concerning if we have boyfriends? No! We don’t have boyfriends, if we have, you would have seen them at our birthday cutting the cake with us. Right now, we are not in any relationship but we have special friends.
How do you handle your male admirers?
Whenever any man admires us because of our movies, we accept them as platonic friends, friends without intimacy.
Are you saying suitors are not coming?
They are coming; we would not lie to you. We don’t want to eat any man’s money after praying and getting confirmation from God that he’s not the will of God for our lives. You don’t have to get married because your friends are getting married.
You will live to regret it for the rest of your life. Once you make such mistake, it is forever. Our mother didn’t marry our father and then divorced him so why would we leave our husbands after marriage? If eventually we get married and we are told that our husbands are having an affair with other women, it would bother us because they have given us the certificates of marriage.
But if he is traveling, we will give him condoms for safety. Whatever he is doing outside would not be our business though it is not easy, it the surest way to guide a marriage with an unfaithful husband. You don’t expect him to change to your desired man in a second; you have to work it out.
This is why some of our colleagues in the industry are having crashed marriages. When they are getting married, they will tell you he is the nicest man, and tomorrow he has become a devil.
Don’t you think you may lose your husband to another woman?
You would only lose him when you continue to go through his phones to keep details of his calls and messages. Though, it is not easy, we will pamper our husbands in such a way that they would not look at any other woman by the grace of God.
